Why us ?
Because instead of putting on airs, we preferred the great outdoors to exhibit the big names in design!
With us, original pieces from internationally renowned designers such as André Sornay, Pierre Chapo, Audoux & Minet, Charlotte Perriand and Osvaldo Borsani stand side by side. But also pieces without a signature but still of very good quality; to fulfill all desires and suit all budgets.
And if you push the door?
What if, after your virtual stroll on our website, you come to visit our warehouse?
An atypical place of 1000 m2 where the scents of old wood and roasted coffee just prepared for you mingle. By appointment, we welcome you to the lair of Galerie 44 to chat with vintage design enthusiasts, whether on our terrace if the weather allows it, or snuggled up in an armchair. Perhaps you will even meet Serge, our mascot who never likes hanging around the halls so much as when we receive visitors. He’s also very fond of selfies!
But if meeting our mascot scares you, or if you're discovering us from Rio, New York, or maybe even Tokyo; whether you are behind your desk or sitting at the bottom of your sofa, you can also find our entire catalog in just a few clicks. Each piece of furniture, seating, lighting or decorative object is present here, on our website, in order to give our products international visibility.
So, whether you are on the other side of the world or a stone's throw from our warehouse, treat yourself: our partner carriers are in charge of delivering to you.
Why 44?
"Because man must be able to move freely in his interior" said Le Corbusier.
What’s the connection with us?
In 1944, this visionary architect invented the Modulor. This representation of a man with his arm raised has become a unit of measurement for designing a place where man and his living space are in harmony. And, harmony is somewhat the key word of Galerie 44.
But, we reassure you, we didn’t get a swelled head; we wouldn't dare compare ourselves to Le Corbusier.
Who is behind Galerie 44?
If it all started with a duo, passionate about design, antique furniture and beautiful pieces, the team has gradually grown, according to its encounters; and there are now six people working hand in hand.
Well, six... Plus one.
